Having provided architectural and engineering services for 2 of the clients former veterinary clinics in Firhouse and Maynooth as part of their growing chain of clinics, McNulty Smyth were commissioned to design a new build 5,000 sqft bespoke Flagship clinic for My Vet. McNulty Smyth also provided full fit out interior design service for this Flagship Clinic.

Attention was paid to making this a gold standard market leader in veterinary clinic design, with careful consideration given to the logistics of care for the animals who need the facilities, along with injecting a sense of playfulness for their owners. Clients benefit from a separate cat consult room and cat ward, allowing for stress-free vet visits for feline patients. Canine companions also enjoy large walk-in kennels in the dog ward.

Externally, given the location on the edge of Lucan village, the building was designed to have a classic shopfront but with a modern twist. Understated, but stylish, signalling the excellence in the pursuit of highest quality care and treatment for which My Vet is known.

McNulty Smyth Associates co-ordinated complex building services, fire safety requirements, Diasability Access Certificate to produce a building that functions & flows for both everyday appointments and complex surgeries. Sound insultation was key so using materials which absorb high frequency and low frequency to contain any alarming noises was key. Good ventilation was also vital, needing lots of air changes, to limit any potential spread of infection and to ensure there are no unpleasant, lingering smells.
