Creating a Sustainable Home

We are pleased to announce our selection to feature in ‘house+design 2023’, the prestigious once-yearly magazine by the Royal Institute of Irish Architects (RIAI). Discover our light-filled mews home in the heart of Ballsbridge, where sustainability lies at the core of our design process. As architects, McNulty Smyth Associates always emphasize the importance of a "fabric first" approach to achieve as high a Building Energy Rating as possible and long-term value for clients. Working closely with a BER consultant, we advise exceeding the Building Regulations to create a highly energy-efficient home.

Sustainability is paramount in our design philosophy. Here we reused elements of the front and back walls of the existing property, installed a heat pump, and incorporated triple-glazed windows, to achieve exceptional energy efficiency while ensuring a comfortable living environment. The result is a home that reduces environmental impact and provides a delightful living experience.
